ALCAD introduces its rejection filters for 5G signal interference management in the 700 MHz band

Spain is making progress in the deployment of 5G in the country, and it is doing so by regulating the actions to be taken in the event of interference of the 5G signal in the 700 MHz band with respect to DTT signals. Thus, Order ETD/100/2022 of 10 February was published in the Official State Gazette, making mobile telephony operators responsible for resolving possible interferences and carrying out preventive actions.

To support industry professionals in correcting 5G signal interference in the 700 MHz band, ALCAD Home presents its rejection filters FR-900 (with mast amplifier box) and RB-900 (in zamak box for indoor installation), which have already been approved and installed in significant numbers in other markets, such as France and Finland, among others. 

Both products incorporate a power pass-through, which allows power to be supplied to a preamplifier. They are suitable for individual and collective terrestrial TV installations affected by the transmission of LTE700 and LTE800 mobile phone signals in the 703-862 MHz band, and by the transmission of GSM and TETRA signals in the 870-960 MHz band.

These filters eliminate interfering signals prior to amplification of TV signals at the head-end of the installation, obtaining a rejection in the LTE700 band of up to -60dB.

FR-900 - Mast Rejection Filter

Manufactured in a shielded zamak chassis, it is covered by a weather-resistant plastic housing. Easy to open and close, the chassis can be tilted for easy handling. The filter can be installed on a mast, using a polyamide clamp, or on a wall. 

Other outstanding features:

• Sun and water resistant (IP53).
• F-type connector.
• Passive (does not need to be powered).
• Power pass-through for powering preamplifiers/mast amplifiers.
• In low LTE signal locations, the filter would suffice. It is not necessary to change the antenna to an LTE700 antenna, nor the mast amplifier to an LTE700.
• In places where the LTE signal is stronger, in addition to the LTE700 antenna and the LTE700 cut-off booster, the filter is recommended.
• No adjustment necessary.
• Simple installation.

RB-900: Indoor Rejection Filter

Made of shielded zamak chassis, metal plated. The connectors are located on opposite sides for easy connections. Its compact design means it can be installed in a 100 x 100 mm box.

Other outstanding features:

• Indoor housing filter (to be fitted after the socket base).
• Passive.
• F-type connectors.
• In places with low LTE signal, the filter is sufficient. It is not necessary to change the antenna to an LTE700 antenna, nor the mast amplifier to an LTE700.
• In places where the LTE signal is stronger, in addition to the LTE700 antenna and the amplifier with LTE700 cut-off, the filter is recommended.
• No adjustment necessary.
• Simple installation.
