ACTIVE VIEW: WDR function for amazing image quality in our 2 WIRE access control system

The quality and clarity of the image are essential in those cases in which it is important to identify the person who stands in front of a camera, as can happen not only in cases of video surveillance, but also when someone rings our doorbell. To solve this situation, the WDR function of our new ACTIVE VIEW camera for 2 WIRE access control systems, installed in our entrance panels, offers an astonishing quality, even in conditions of backlighting, glare and sudden changes in brightness. Its color and image sharpness are so incredible that it will be difficult for you to stop looking.

The WDR function (Wide Dynamic Range) is an advanced feature of some camera models, widely used in cases of video surveillance, which allows better handling of different lighting conditions in the same scene. This is an essential function when it comes to being able to analyze in detail not only areas with low or excessive luminosity, but also to identify people who are in backlight and, therefore, in the dark according to the point of view of the observer. scene.

On a technical level, the WDR function seeks to combine the spaces of bright lights with the spaces of shadows that are in the same shot, in such a way that it is able to create a balance in the final image. This is only possible by taking a full exposure metering (lights, tones, colors, depth of field, object placement, etc.) and adding light details on the gloomiest surfaces, while subtracting luminescence in areas more resplendent.

Its use is recommended for those places where our camera is oriented outwards, such as outside a doorway or home, which can cause a backlight that is very difficult to process for cameras that do not have this function.

That is, spaces where the camera will be looking from the inside out of a door that is constantly opening or when it has to see through glass doors, stained glass windows, gates, windows with excessive light entry and / or areas where permanent or momentary reflections occur.
