When 2020 faces its final stretch, at ALCAD we look back and take stock of a year that we will never forget. In our case, in addition, the outbreak of the pandemic has coincided with the start-up of our ALCAD Home business unit, a change in structure that has helped us to be closer to our clients and provide them with all services at our reach, with the aim that they can continue with their activity.
2020 has marked a before and after in ALCAD's journey, with a profound change in structure and philosophy put in place with the aim of offering a better service to all our clients. Precisely, this evolution has helped us find solutions to adapt to uncertain times with the arrival of the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
In our more than 30 years of experience we have never faced such an uncertain and changing reality and, like the rest of the companies in the sector, we have been forced to make decisions along the way. The most important, which we started from the beginning, was the adoption of actions to protect the health and safety of all our employees and clients, implementing all the measures recommended by the health authorities.
Thus, despite the difficulties and thanks to the commitment of all our workers, we have maintained our factory activity uninterrupted and we have been able to continue supplying all our clients, in a year also marked by the process of the Second Digital Dividend in Spain.
In this sense, our catalog of specific products has been one of the most demanded, as the figures show: more than 2 million families (8 million people) residing in more than 100,000 buildings have adapted their receivers with our solutions. Figures that reinforce our position as a leading manufacturer: 1 in 3 facilities in Spain bears the ALCAD seal.
The birth of the ALCAD Home business unit has allowed us a greater specialization in our day-to-day activities, resulting in a global improvement of our services. We have been more efficient through the global improvement of our service, with greater specialization and coordination, and a greater speed of response.
ALCAD Home: global entertainment, security and telecommunications solutions
The ALCAD Home business unit is the result of the union of our more than 30 years of experience in the Multimedia-TV sector with our complete range of Door Entry Systems products (intercom solutions, access control and digital home). Thus, we offer the market solutions in two areas:
- The reception, processing and distribution of TV signals, in which we are a global benchmark, not in vain more than 20 million people in more than 60 countries watch television with ALCAD products.
- Intercommunication, access control and digital home, in a market focused on expanding services to the end user in the environment of a system whose primary and initial function is the management of home access control.
According to Josean Martín, director of the business unit, his area focused on supporting the client in the new reality: “ALCAD Home was created with a structure that allows flexible adaptation to different market changes. Within the objective of customer service, during these months we have focused on trying to help in what was within our reach in adapting to the pandemic situation, with actions such as increasing stocks for faster service, maintenance of all the channels open to the client or the coordination of improvement in payment terms."
